Rome sweeps doublehead­er against Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Hayden Deal tossed a four-hit complete game and Jean Carlos Encarnacio­n hit a two-run home run and had two hits, as the Rome Braves topped the Augusta GreenJacke­ts 5-1 to complete a doublehead­er sweep Tuesday.

Deal (5-1) picked up the win after KH VWUXFN RXW ¿YH ZKLOH DOORZLQJ one run.

Trailing 1-0, the Braves took the OHDG IRU JRRG LQ WKH ¿IWK LQQLQJ when Encarnacio­n homered to bring home Brendan Venter.

The Braves later tacked on three runs in the sixth when Greyson Jenista hit a two-run single and Jefrey Ramos hit a solo home run to secure the victory.

Jose Marte (6-4) went 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs and six hits while striking out six in the South Atlantic League game.

AJ Graffanino hit a solo home UXQ LQ WKH ¿IWK LQQLQJ DQG Drew Waters homered and had two hits as the Rome Braves beat the Augusta *UHHQ-DFNHWV LQ WKH ¿UVW JDPH of a doublehead­er Tuesday.

The home run by Graffanino gave the Braves a 5-4 lead.

The Braves tacked on another run in the seventh when Waters hit a solo home run.

Tyler Watson (1-0) got the win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless, three-hit relief while Stetson Woods (1-1) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
