Lightning strikes Trion school

-

SUMMERVILLE — Lightning struck Trion Elementary School around 4 p.m. Wednesday and caused a little damage, according to Superintendent of Schools Phil Williams.

The bolt struck one section of lights and made an exit sign run hot. The circuit breaker to a set of lights tripped.

“We found a breaker that is tripped. When you try to flip it back over, it pops. We have a short somewhere in our lighting system. So, we have to trace it down,” Superintendent Williams said. “I don’t think we have any other damage other than that. The wind was blowing so hard the rain was coming in from up under the doors. We are cleaning that up.”
