Broiler/Fryer: National Broiler Market at-a-Glance

For Aug. 9:

Whole broiler/fryer prices are weak and trending lower going into next week. Supplies are available for current needs. Retail and food service is mostly light to moderate. Dealers see no need to extend floor stocks beyond regular commitment­s. Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts structure, jumbo wings are steady, balance of white items are steady to weak. The market on dark items is steady to weak. Offerings of jumbo wings light, small wings are noted as more available and slow in clearing. Dark meat is moderate to heavy. Tenders, bone-in and boneless, skinless breast are plentiful. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mixed but mostly desirable weights.
