Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host a puppy pool party at Northside Swim Center, 501 Kingston Ave., on

Sunday. Snickers of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit will make an appearance, and Georgia Dog Gym will give demonstrat­ions on dock diving dogs, obedience and canine scent work at 2 p.m. Designated swim times will be based on the dog’s weight with 49 pounds and below from 1-2 p.m. and 50 pounds and above from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tickets, T-shirt and doggy goodie bag cost $15. The Hospitalit­y House Thrift Store Ladies Boutique, 610 Shorter Ave., is holding their semiannual 75 percent off sale through Sept. 29. Prices start at $1.50. The store is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds benefit Hospitalit­y House for Women.
