Reformation Brewery announces production move to The Mill on Etowah
CANTON — A high-profile mixed-use development in Canton will be the new home of Reformation Brewery’s main warehouse and production location starting next year.
The Georgia-based brewery, which recently opened an experimental brew facility and taproom in downtown Woodstock, has now been tapped as the first tenant for The Mill on Etowah in historic downtown Canton and has plans to open “an adjoining taproom and events space in early 2019,” the company said in a written announcement first provided to the Tribune.
The new nearly 30,000-square-foot Reformation space will be at 141 Railroad St. in the more than 30-acre property to be developed as The Mill on Etowah mixed-use development overlooking the Etowah River. The Mill is “an adaptive reuse development” reviving the former Canton textile mills and is set to open by the summer of 2019, according to developers. The project is expected to include a “retail market” and shops, restaurants, music venues, office space, green space and potential residential units.
Reformation Brewery co-founder and CEO Spencer Nix said the company’s decision to expand was a response to its rapid growth and a need for additional production and storage space.
“We needed to expand production capacity for some time, and The Mill allows us to meet those needs while also providing a great space for hosting community events,” Nix said.
