MONDAY
Baritone Yuman Lee and Pianist Jerico Vasquez will present Franz Schubert’s “Winterreise” at Brookes Chapel, Shorter University, 315 Shorter Ave., Moday at 7:30 p.m. Lee serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Shorter. Vasquez is Artist-in-Residence, Professor of Music and Coordinator of the Keyboard Program at Shorter University. He has performed as a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Philippines. The event is free and open to the public. Hospitality House will hold their annual meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Wilder Center, First United Methodist Church, 202 E. Third Ave. The meeting will review Hospitality House’s activities through the year and the organization’s future plans. The event is free and open to the public.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host the second annual Truck or Treat event at 5 p.m. on
Wednesday at Ridge Ferry Park, 363 Riverside Parkway. The free event includes trick or treating, costume contests, music, inflatables and more. The Floyd County Master Gardeners will present a free informational community workshop, “Tour of Trees along Kingfisher
Trail,” on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. The group will meet in the parking lot of the Charles Graves Bridge at the corner of South Broad Street and Branham Avenue at 1:45 p.m. City of Rome Arborist Terry Paige and Floyd County Extension Agent Keith Mickler will lead the workshop. The Rome African Violet Study Group will meet Friday at 1 p.m. at the Rome Federated Garden Center, 100 E. Eighth St. The program will cover leaf and bloom varieties, followed by “play in the dirt.”

NAMI Rome will sponsor Roam N Rome, a mental illness awareness walk on

urday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Associate Professor in the College of Education at Appalachian State University Allen Bryant will bring several of his Cherokee high school students to perform traditional storytelling and to portray figures from Cherokee history.
