Report: Man shot at car then threw gun out window

A Rome man is being held at Floyd County Jail on multiple felony charges after police say he fired a gun at a vehicle with children inside on Monday morning.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Tevin Marquel Fain, 27, of 131 Dodd Blvd., got angry at the victim’s car for driving too slowly so he sped around them and brake checked the victim’s car. Fain also shot a Ruger .40 pistol at the victims car which had children inside. When police followed him with lights and sirens Fain attempted to flee and ran the stop sign on the 411 off ramp and headed north on Dean Avenue. He then threw the pistol out of his window near the Stay Lodge on Dean Avenue.

Fain is charged with three charges of felony aggravated assault, felony tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is also charged with mis- demeanor cruelty to children, running a stop sign, aggressive driving, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. Handgun reported stolen from vehicle

A firearm was reported stolen from a vehicle over the weekend.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

Police responded to Giggity’s Sports Bar, 227 Broad Street, around 1:10 a.m. Sunday where a man said his 9mm handgun had been taken from the center console of his vehicle.

The complainan­t stated on Oct. 26 he left the firearm in the center console of his vehicle and discovered it missing around 9:30 a.m. the next day. He said the center console was found open and the vehicle had been ransacked. Blake Silvers, staff writer

Rome woman accused of stealing from house, car

A Rome woman charged with two felonies connected with thefts from the same victim was in jail Monday pending a $7,900 bond.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Gwendolyn Irene Hicks, 53, of 3 Lester Lane, was arrested by deputies Sunday on warrants charging her with felony burglary and felony theft by taking.

Hicks reportedly entered a house on Thomas Road in June and took unspecifie­d items valued at over $500. She returned in September and took more than $500 worth of items from a vehicle. Diane Wagner, staff writer
