The Berry College History Department will host commemorat­ive events for the centenary of the World War I armistice including a roundtable discussion covering the impact of the war and a general overview of its events at 11 a.m. today in the Krannert Center, room 217. Beth Anne De Keizer will present research and the short documentar­y film “Berry and World War I” at 4 p.m. on Friday in the Krannert Center, room 217. A ceremony at the Berry World War I monument on Memorial Drive will follow at 5:30 p.m. All events will be held at Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway, and are free and open to the public.

The Camellia Garden Club will meet today at 11 a.m. at The Rome Federated Garden Center, 100 E. Eighth St. The program will be presented by Keith Mickler, Floyd County extension coordinato­r. Visitors and guests are welcome. For more informatio­n call 706-295-3751.

Georgia Highlands College, 3175 Cedartown Highway, will hold a career expo today from 5:30-7 p.m. The event is open to the public. The college is looking to fill a variety of positions in areas including admissions, business office and part-time and full-time faculty. Bring a resume. The Berry College Jazz Ensemble will perform their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. today in the Ford Auditorium, Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway. Under the direction of John David, director of jazz and percussion studies, this concert will showcase contempora­ry music from around the world. The event is free and open to the public.

day from 6-9 p.m. Selle will showcase her different painting styles through the years. Selle has received recognitio­n in Georgia and Norway for her work and won RACA’s Emerging Artist Award in 2007. Admission is free.

Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway, will host award-winning poet Elena Karina Byrne reading her

Applicatio­ns are due by Nov. 15 and are $100 each with a late fee of $50 after Nov. 15. The parade theme is “The King is Born.” The parade will be held Nov. 27 with a rain date of Nov. 29.
