Woman charged with giving inmate prohibited items
Police reports say a Hinesville woman wired money intended to purchase tobacco for an inmate in Floyd County jail.
According to Floyd County jail reports:
Lachaz Lunceford, 38, of 904 Liberty Manor Court, wired money to a someone who used the money to buy a large amount of tobacco who, under Lunceford’s instruction, was to be given to an inmate at the Floyd County Jail.
Lunceford is charged with two felony charges of providing an inmate with prohibited items and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Report: Woman brought methamphetamine to the jail
Jail documents say a Silver Creek woman knowingly had meth on her person when she was taken to the Floyd county jail.
According to the jail report: Karen Teresa Jones, 58, of 353 Morris Road, tried to hide the meth on her person in the back of the patrol car she was in while she was on the way to the jail.
Jones had already been arrested and charged with felony probation violation, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and concealing the identity of a vehicle. She is also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and crossing the guard line with drugs.
Marietta man charged with drug possession and traffic violation
Police charged a man Monday night after his driving caused an accident and he was found with drugs.
According to Floyd County jail reports:
Darrell Wayne Strickland, 54, of 824 Scott Lane, was driving down Shorter Avenue when he caused an accident. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Strickland is being charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of mari- juana under an ounce and failure to maintain a lane.
Report: Rome man witnessed breaking into a vehicle
Police arrested a man minutes after he was reportedly caught breaking into a vehicle on Notasulga Drive.
According to Floyd County jail reports:
Tracie Dean Smith, 56, of 73 Milco Place, was seen entering a vehicle by the vehicle’s owner and was attempting to steal items from inside.
Smith is charged with entering an automobile which is a felony.
