Rome man indicted on exploitati­on of a child charge

A Rome man charged with child exploitati­on was among those indicted by a Floyd County grand jury last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jimmy Abadio Lopez, 28, of Rome, was charged with exploitati­on of minors in early May.

Lopez was among 10 individual­s arrested in Floyd County during a child sex sting involving agencies in eight southern states as part of Operation Southern Impact III targeted child predators, specifical­ly ones who sexually exploit children with the use of technology.

The charge in the indictment does not necessaril­y show all the charges filed against a person accused of a crime.
