Tammy Jean Larue, age 60, of Rome, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday August 18, 2019.

Tammy was born September 28, 1958, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Gene Larue and Mary Jo Freeman Larue.

Survivors include brothers, Tony (Kristy) Larue, Rome, and Greg (Christie) Larue, Fort Payne, Ala.; nieces and nephew also survive.

In accordance with Tammy’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.

Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, Ga. 30165, has charge of arrangemen­ts.

Riesterer, wrote Black Eyed Peas’ hit, dies PARIS (AP) —

Frederic Riesterer, the producer and creator of electronic dance music who co-wrote the Grammynomi­nated hit “I Gotta Feeling” with The Black Eyed Peas, has died. He was 58.

Riesterer also worked with David Guetta but, unlike the superstar French DJ, eschewed the limelight.

Chieftains Museum/ Major Ridge Home, 501 Riverside Parkway, will host a Pollinator “Pop-in” event Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as part of the Great Georgia Pollinator Census, a citizen science initiative to count and record pollinator­s. Visitors will be able to take part in research for the University of Georgia and the Extension Service by helping count pollinator­s in the museum’s garden. The pollinator count will begin at noon with visitors learning about how to count pollinator­s and why it’s important. Admission price for the pop-in event is $5 per person with a $20 family cap. Those who cannot make it to the pollinator count can still tour the museum and complete pollinator activities and worksheets throughout the event. A slim crowd turned out at the Farmers Market in Ridge Ferry Park where tomatoes were plentiful. Debra Kinnebrew picked up a couple of big ones from Jeff Talley. The Harbin Clinic Gallery at Makervilla­ge will host “A Painted Life” featuring the works of local folk artist Charles Wimpee from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through Saturday.

The annual Ducks Unlimited Youth and Outdoors Greenwing shooting event at Arrowhead Wildlife Management area, 2502 Floyd Springs Road, will be held Saturday. Youngsters will have a chance to participat­e in BB gun shooting, archery, .410 gauge shotgun firing at still targets and 20-gauge shotgun firing on the skeet range. There is a $15 fee that includes a DU Greenwing membership, T-shirt and pizza lunch. The event is open to boys and girls 17 and under. Registrati­on will begin at 9 a.m., events will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults can participat­e in lunch for $5.
