Rome teen charged with exploitati­on of an elder, burglary

A 17-year-old faces a couple of felony charges after allegedly taking an ATV and other items from a garage at a home on Warren Road.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Steven Chandler Brown, of 4 Harbour Road, is alleged to have gone onto property near Richard B. Russell Regional Airport on Aug. 25 and taken the all-terrain vehicle along with a gas can and a battery charger.

He is charged with felony burglary and exploitati­on of an elder for entering the property owner’s garage and taking the items while simultaneo­usly causing mental anguish to the property owner.

Meth-related charges for senior, two younger people in same home

A 79-year-old woman and two millennial­s living together are being held without bond for meth possession, intend to distribute and reckless conduct.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Ann Ruth Parr, 79, Derek Hunter Parr Sr., 26, and Ashley Nicole Royer, 32, of 32 Lynn Ave., were found to be in possession of meth, digital scales, hypodermic needles and a glass smoking device during the execution of a search warrant Friday at 10 a.m.

There was an infant child in the residence “whose life was endangered,” according to the report.

Derek Parr also was charged with felony obstructio­n of an officer.

Man held without bond on forgery, meth-related charges

A 42-year-old Rome man is facing three felony charges and three misdemeano­r charges after being found with illegal substances, parapherna­lia and a counterfei­t bill during the execution of a warrant out of Fulton County.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Doyle Eugene Tant Sr., of 725 Mays Bridge Road, was found with a quantity of meth, digital scales, hypodermic needles and a glass smoking device Friday at 10 a.m. at a home at 32 Lynn Ave.

Police also found a counterfei­t $20 contained among legal currency and marijuana.

There also was an infant in the home.

He was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of meth, forgery, possession of drug-related objects, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and reckless conduct.

He is being held without bond.
