2 facing felony drug charges
Two men were arrested on felony drug charges after a traffic stop near Chambers Street on Monday evening.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Richard Dallas Smith Jr., 36, of 6 Primulas Drive, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and crossing a guard line with contraband.
Smith is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug related objects and marijuana possession after police stopped the vehicle he was in at Kingston Avenue and Chambers Street at about 8:52 p.m. Monday.
During a search officers found a small amount of marijuana as well as meth on Smith at the jail.
Ladon Shericko Ware, 34, remained behind bars Tuesday afternoon without bond, facing drug and weapons charges.
Ware is charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute. He is also charged with misdemeanor driving on an expired license, operation of an unregistered vehicle, and possession of drug related objects.
In addition, a plastic debit card with white residue on it that appeared to be meth was found, along with a Cobra 9 mm Ware stated was his. Blake Silvers, Roman Record editor
