Report: Arrested man offers police $5,000 to let him go
A Tennessee man charged with threatening a Rome police officer and having drugs reportedly offered the officer $5,000 “to make this all go away.”
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Anthony Obrien Sanders, 34, of a Soddy-daisy address, was being held Monday pending a $7,900 bond.
He is charged with the felonies possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, two counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer and bribery.
Sanders was at the Racetrac gas station at 3006 Martha Berry Highway on Friday after being told not to be there because of a prior arrest. When he was asked to leave he began swinging his fists and touching the officer.
Amphetamines were found in a pill bottle in his pocket. He was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle where he made the statement about paying the officer.

Blackburn is also charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.
Carter is additionally charged with driving a vehicle on suspended registration. She was released on bond Saturday.

Amy Michelle Carney, 45, was being held Monday night with a bond set at $3,500.
She was working for a Cave Spring convenience story Friday when she scratched off $1,750 worth of tickets.

is accused of hitting the child on several occasions with his hand and belt, leaving bruises. Hicks is accused of allowing another adult to hit the child repeatedly.

A Rome man charged with felony aggravated stalking after he was accused of violating a temporary protective order was being held Monday with no bond set.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Michael Rece Hall, 34, followed a woman who had taken out a TPO against him and placed her under surveillance.

Martin had individual packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution, as well as a digital scale. Boatner was found with a small bag of cocaine and a small bag of marijuana concealed on his person when he was booked into the jail. He is also a convicted felon.
Both are charged with felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Boatner is also charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and crossing a guard line with drugs, as well as misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
His bond is set at $7,900. Martin is also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and misdemeanor possession of drugrelated objects.
Her bond is set at $10,100.
