Report: Trio forces way into East Rome residence, takes money and phone

Three people forced their way into an East Rome residence and took money and a cellphone, according to a Rome police report.

According to the report:

The man who lived at the home heard someone knocking on his back door Tuesday night. When he went to see who it was, there was a knock at the front door. When he went to the front door he recognized a woman and opened the door. Then she and two unknown men forced their way into the residence.

The resident said one of the men had a piece of rope and threatened to tie him up. They then took $200 that was sitting on a table and a cellphone. One of the men grabbed a golf club that was in the house and threatened to beat the resident if he didn’t give them the pass code to the phone.

The three people looked around but the resident said he didn’t see them take anything else. They went out the back door of the residence and got into a vehicle before leaving.

Lindale woman faces drug charges

A Lindale woman remained in jail without bond Wednesday after she was arrested and charged with having methamphet­amine. According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Rita Faye Argo, 39, is charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine and misdemeano­r possession and use of drug-related objects. She is also charged with failure to comply with terms of a bond for previous charges.

Man turns himself in following

hit and run charge

A Rome man remained in jail without bond Wednesday facing charges of hit and run and aggravated stalking.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Dale Robert Agan Jr., 31, turned himself in to authoritie­s at the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday. He is charged with felony aggravated stalking as well as criminal trespass, hit and run, misdemeano­r obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t officers and failure to maintain a lane.
