Report: Rome man kicks woman, threatens to kill her

A Rome man arrested on felony terroristi­c threats and misdemeano­r simple assault charges was released from jail Wednesday on bond.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Mark Edward Mathis, 51, threatened to kill a woman, making her fear for her life. He also kicked her and assaulted another, making them fear for injury.

Mathis obstructed law enforcemen­t officers during the arrest. He also is charged with misdemeano­r battery under the Family Violence Act and obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t officers.

A Rome man is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeano­r marijuana after being arrested at the CVS Pharmacy on Martha Berry Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Robert Wayne Camp Jr., 48,

was smoking marijuana at the pharmacy, according to a witness. During the arrest, he was found with a bag of marijuana and a container with meth, as well as rolling papers.

Camp is also charged with misdemeano­r possession of drug related objects. He was being held Wednesday with a bond set at $5,700.

Report: Man entered jail with package of meth

A homeless man is charged with possession of methamphet­amine and crossing the jail guardline with illegal drugs.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Matthew Dewayne Chambers, 55, was found with a package of methamphet­amine during a search at the jail.

He remained in jail Wednesday with no bond on a probation violation.
