Three arrested in drug bust by Rome-floyd Metro Task Force
Rome-floyd Metro Task Force arrested three people on drug related charges after executing a search warrant at a residence on Crescent Avenue, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Angel Sherry Pope, 38, Christopher Lloyd Pope, 37, and Chet Daniel White, 35, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, are all charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor use of drug related objects.
Officers found syringes loaded with meth throughout the house Wednesday night as well as bagged meth and digital scales. They also found several glass smoking devices in the house.
Two children were present during the search and both Popes are additionally charged with misdemeanor cruelty to children in the third degree, as well as misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Christopher Pope is also charged with three counts of felony meth possession and possession with intent to distribute. He sold meth to a cooperating witness twice back in May. He is charged with two counts of felony sale of methamphetamine.
White and Angel Pope remained in jail Thursday with $5,700 blanket bonds, while Christopher Pope was being held without bond.
Man charged with stealing Armuchee Laundry sign
A Rome man is charged with felony second degree burglary after reportedly breaking into Armuchee Laundry and stealing their neon “open” sign, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jesse Dewayne Dutton, 31, stole the $350 sign on June 10. He was brought into
Floyd County Jail on a felony warrant. He remained in jail with no bond Thursday.
Police: Man had 7 ounces of marijuana
After being pulled over by Rome police officers for a window tint violation, a Rome man was reportedly found with over seven ounces of marijuana packaged for distribution, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jamarie Tyre Sloman, 24, also had a gun in his possession and a set of digital scales.
Sloman is charged with misdemeanor window tint violation, possession of drug related objects, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, marijuana possession and possession with intent to distribute.
He remained in jail with no bond Thursday.
Motel resident facing cocaine charge
A Rome man was being held without bond Thursday after his arrest at Fairbridge Inn Express on Martha Berry Boulevard on drug related charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Anthony Rashad Donaldson, 30, gave a false name and birth date to officers and also handed them a written statement to help conceal his identity.
While searching his possessions, officers found a small amount of cocaine, less than one ounce of marijuana and a digital scale.
Donaldson is charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, drug-related object possession and giving false name to officers. He is also charged with felony cocaine possession and making false statements.
