Report: K9 leads police to meth, THC oil
An Ohio woman and Rome man were arrested at the intersection of Martha Berry Highway and Three Mile Road after a traffic stop led police to meth and a vape pen with THC oil in the vehicle, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Erica Lyne Kitchens, 27, of Fremont, Ohio, was initially pulled over for driving without a tag. The Rome police officer then found the vehicle wasn’t registered or insured. After a K9 did a free air sniff, methamphetamine and a pipe were found in the vehicle.
Travis Dewayne Counts, 34, had a vape pen in his possession as well. He is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
Kitchens is charged with felony meth possession, misdemeanor drug-related object possession, driving while license is suspended or revoked, operation of an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance.
She remained in jail Thursday with a $5,700 blanket bond. Counts also remained in jail with a $3,500 bond.
Inmate reportedly broke sprinkler in jail cell, attacked another
A jail inmate is charged with interference with government property and felony unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution after he broke the sprinkler in his jail cell and attacked another inmate, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Vincent Stewart Whitaker, 52, is charged with simple battery after attacking an inmate and leaving a knot under his left eye, a scratch on the side of his left eye and another scratch on his forehead.
He remained in jail without bond Thursday.

A Rome man is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and marijuana following a traffic stop at the intersection of Martha Berry Highway and Robin Street, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Anthony Jerome Garrett, 32, was sitting in the passenger seat during a traffic stop when a Rome police officer smelled a marijuana odor coming from him. After asking him to step out, the officer found Ecstasy in his pocket.
Garrett is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects. He was released from jail Thursday on a $3,500 bond.

high-speed chase
A Rome man is charged with several traffic violations and the felony fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement officers, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Cody William Blaylock, 30, was driving 20 miles over the speed limit and drove on the left side of the road. At one point, he forced the passengers out of the car and continued fleeing. He eventually wrecked the vehicle at the intersection of Park Avenue and North First Street in Lindale.
Blaylock also is charged with misdemeanor obstruction of officers, a stop sign violation, driving without a tag light, driving on the wrong side of the road and failure to maintain lane.
He remained in jail without bond Thursday on a probation violation.

Booger Hollow Road after officers identified a stolen vehicle she was driving, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Angela Dawn Shirey, 48, of Cedartown, and Justin Ryan Hamilton, 28, of Fruithurst, Alabama, kept meth and a glass pipe in the center console of the car.
Shirey had more meth and a glass pipe hidden in her clothing. Hamilton was originally driving the vehicle, but picked up Shirey and let her drive. Shirey also had a suspended license.
Shirey and Hamilton are both charged with felony theft by receiving and meth possession. He was released from jail on a $5,700 bond Thursday.
She is also charged with driving while license suspended and a probation violation. She remained in jail with no bond Thursday.
Silver Creek woman

While leaving the Seven Hills Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard, a Silver Creek woman was pulled over for an improper turn and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Casandra Suzanne Ely, 34, of Silver Creek, had a Walther 22 pistol in her car during the arrest. She is also charged with misdemeanor improper turn.
She remained in jail Thursday with a $3,500 blanket bond.
Police: Indiana woman
had meth
An Indiana woman remained in jail with no bond on accusations she had two glass pipes containing meth residue, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Juli Ann Phelps, 43, of Spiceland, Indiana, was arrested at the intersection of East Second Avenue and Broad Street on meth possession and two counts of drug-related object possession. The Rome police officer found two glass pipes in her vehicle and purse.
Report: Prison inmate tried to hide cellphone
A Clayton County man is charged with felony possession of items prohibited by warden after reportedly confirming that a cellphone found at the Floyd County Prison was his.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Sherodrick Teramine Cheeley, 25, of Rex, had an LG cellphone at the Floyd County Prison in January 2018. After being instructed to stand for a pat search, he ran and threw the cellphone underneath a bunk.
He later confirmed that it was his phone during an interview.
He was released from jail on a $3,500 bond Thursday.

A Jonesboro man accused of having drugs at the Floyd County Prison is charged with felony possession and sale of marijuana, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Reuvon Brandon Taylor, 35, of Jonesboro, kept 11 packages of 4.2 grams of marijuana in a sock hidden in his left pant leg in April 2016. Officers found the packages during a search.

A Taylorsville woman is charged with unauthorized distribution of controlled substances after reportedly taking several pills without a prescription, reports stated.

Brooke Anne Mckibben, 28, of Taylorsville, took Hydrocodone, Percocet and Norco at the Walgreens pharmacy on Martha Berry Boulevard.
She was held at the jail with a $3,500 bond Thursday.

A Rome man is charged with felony meth possession after officers found methamphetamine in his house and car during a probation search, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Timothy Jacob Boyd, 28, was being held without bond Thursday.

A homeless man remained in jail with a $5,700 bond after being charged with felony second degree burglary and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Christopher David Krall, 49, entered a residence on Black’s Bluff Road and stole an alcoholic beverage from the house.
He remained in an unoccupied dwelling in the house until police arrested him.
