Report: Rome man allegedly beat woman at his residence

A Rome man was held at Floyd County Jail without bond Wednesday following an arrest on felony meth possession and several violent charges, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Randy Scott Shanks, 32, beat and choked a woman at his home on Turner Bend Road on July 25. He also allegedly held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

During his arrest outside the Movies at Berry Square, a K- 9 signaled that it detected narcotics and Floyd County sheriff’s deputies found a small bag of meth in the driver’s side front door.

Shanks is charged with felony aggravated assault, terroristi­c threats and misdemeano­r family violence battery. He’s also being held for the Walker County Sheriff’s Office on unspecifie­d charges.

A Rome man is charged with felony aggravated stalking and misdemeano­r simple assault following an altercatio­n where he allegedly violated a temporary restrainin­g order to stay away from the person, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Joshua Brian Boswell, 33, lunged at the person with closed fists, causing them bodily harm on Aug. 22. He remained in jail with no bond Wednesday.

Task force charges man with firearm, steroid possession

A Rome man was arrested by Rome-floyd Metro Task Force following a search warrant at his home where officers allegedly discovered several firearms and numerous types of anabolic steroids, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Michael Shane Mims, 45, had nandrolone, sustanon, trenbolone acetate and testostero­ne, as well as less than an ounce of marijuana. Officers also found five rifles, one shotgun and one handgun at the residence on Big Texas Valley Road. Mims also had several needles and syringes.

He is charged with five counts of felony Schedule III substance possession, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects and less than one ounce of marijuana. Mims was released on bond Wednesday morning.

Man charged with DUI after being found unresponsi­ve in car

A Rome man is charged with meth possession, DUI and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following an arrest at the intersecti­on of Turner Mccall Boulevard and Hicks Drive, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Rome police officers found Eric Harlan Brewer, 37, slumped over the steering wheel of a car. Officers also found a glass pipe with meth residue in the seat next to him as well as a firearm.

Brewer is also charged with possession and use of drugrelate­d objects. He was released from jail on a $7,900 bond Wednesday.

Rockmart man facing drug conspiracy charge

A Rockmart man remained in jail with no bond Wednesday after being charged with felony conspiracy to violate Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Justin Dean Bullard, 33, conspired with another person over the phone to sell and distribute methamphet­amine back in July. Bullard is also charged with using a communicat­ion device to facilitate the commission of a felony.
