Report: Man towed away Dodge Caravan, said he thought the owner didn’t want it
A Rome man was in jail with a $ 5,700 bond Monday after he allegedly stole a 2003 Dodge Caravan by towing it away from the property, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail and Rome police reports:
Ralph Wayne Martin, 60, is charged with felony theft by taking an automobile and entering an automobile without permission. The owner of the vehicle called Rome police Sunday morning after he realized the car was missing from his property on Stonewall Street. He later found it at Martin’s residence on Bells Ferry Road.
When the two men spoke, Martin said that a man who had been staying with him woke him up in the middle of the night and said there was an old vehicle on someone’s property that the owner wanted gone. They drove over to the residence on Stonewall Street, attached chains to the vehicle and towed it back to his place.
The other man couldn’t be identified since he gave different names to different people.

A 21- year- old man arrested at a hotel on Chateau Drive is facing felony charges of possession of Schedule I and II controlled substances and methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Rome police found meth, three THC vape cartridges, a Dextroamphetamine, a pipe and less than one ounce of marijuana in Keegan Lawrence Gordon’s possession in his room at the La Quinta Inn.
Gordon also is charged with the misdemeanors possession of marijuana and possession of drug- related objects. He remained in jail Monday with no bond.

An Alabama man was arrested in Cave Spring Monday morning after officers pulled him over for failing to maintain his lane and found meth in his vehicle, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Dayton Kyle Stephens, 24, of Centre, Alabama, was pulled over at the intersection of Buttermilk and Gadsden roads. The officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and proceeded to do a search, finding drug-related objects and methamphetamine under the driver’s seat.
Stephens was being held without bond on a felony meth charge.

Rome man jailed on child cruelty charges
A Rome man accused of striking a woman in front of several small children was being held without bond on a probation violation Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Johnny Ray Whatley, 37, is accused of hitting the woman at the Ashland Park apartments just before midnight Saturday and causing close to $ 500 in damage to her property.
Whatley is charged with battery, criminal damage to property, three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and a felony probation violation.

A traffic stop in downtown Rome led to the arrest of a wanted Alabama man, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Kole Eugene Maxwell, 37, of Centre, Alabama, was stopped on Broad Street at East Third Avenue early Saturday and charged with DUI, failing to maintain a lane and striking a fixed object.
Maxwell also was arrested on a felony fugitive from justice charge.
Drug charge filed against Walker

A traffic stop in the 800 block of Shorter Avenue led to a felony drug charge against a man from Walker County.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jason Clay Rosson, 37, of Rossville was found to be in possession of a quantity of Xanax during a traffic stop around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Rosson is charged with felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Metro Task Force personnel seized marijuana and tramadol and arrested four people during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Clover Street.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Timothy Frankie Johnson, 23; Audie Johnson, 57; Sandy Gail Craig, 56; and Johnny Wayne Craig Jr., 34, all listed 15 Clover St. as their residence. They were arrested Friday after officers found a quantity of marijuana, marijuana grinders, smoking devices and several tramadol pills during the search.
All four are charged with felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drugs not in an original container.
Timothy Frankie Johnson and Johnny Wayne Craig Jr. are also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug- related objects.

Metro Task Force personnel carried a search warrant to a home at 1909 Olmstead St., where they arrested three people on a variety of drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Christopher M. Carson, 43; Michael Lewis Howard, 60; and Demarcus Rayshan Ragland, 35, were arrested Friday afternoon around 3 p. m.
A quantity of cocaine was found on Carson and Ragland, while Howard was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a smoking device with cocaine residue.
All three are charged with felony possession of cocaine. Ragland is also charged with contempt of court and Howard is additionally charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug- related objects.

Police arrested a Rome man on a warrant alleging that he sold a quantity of cocaine to a cooperating witness during an Aug. 20 investigation, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Randolph David Reynolds Jr., 39, sold the cocaine to a witness at 1204 Martha Berry Blvd., the Relax Inn. When he was picked up Friday, police found a quantity of methamphetamine tucked away inside a sock.
Reynolds is charged with felony possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine.
He is also charged with three counts of contempt of Superior Court.

Floyd County police making a traffic stop on Turner Mccall Boulevard late Friday found a large amount of marijuana, oxycodone, Xanax, THC wax, a marijuana grinder, a digital scale and a couple of weapons in the vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Megan Elizabeth Adams, 31 and Aaron Ashton Gibson, 28, were in the vehicle where the drugs and two guns were found.
Both Adams and Gibson are charged with the felonies possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, along with misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects.
Gibson was additionally charged with felony possession of Schedule I, II, and IV controlled substances and misdemeanor having drugs not in the original container.
Neighborhood dispute leads to arrest of
Rome man
A Rome man is facing a felony obstruction charge after he fought with police called to Redwood Street to settle a dispute between neighbors, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Adam Lance Compton, 35 was arrested at his Redwood Street home just before midnight Friday after police saw him run from a nearby house where the original argument had taken place.
He tried to throw his elbow into the face of of the arresting officer and a brief scuffle ensued before he was taken to the ground and restrained.
Compton is charged with felony obstruction of an officer along with the misdemeanors simple battery and public drunkenness. He’s also facing a probation violation.
