Report: Rome man kidnapped child, fled from police officers
A Rome man remained in jail without bond Wednesday, accused of kidnapping a child and running from police.
According to Floyd County Jail reports/warrants:
Tiquan Ticristan Barrett, 23, took a child without the mother’s permission Tuesday afternoon, then slapped the mother and told her she would “get what’s coming to her,” before driving off as police responded to the scene.
Beginning at the Circle K on Calhoun Highway, Barrett fled from police and reached speeds of up to 118 miles per hour in a 55 zone, crossing the center line.
Barrett is charged with felony fleeing, kidnapping and terroristic threats and acts. He is also charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, simple battery, driving on the wrong side of the road, and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

wrote bad checks
A Rome man accused of writing bad checks was in jail Wednesday with a bond set at $10,100 on those charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports/warrants:
Jason Labronne Smith, 42, wrote two bad checks on Sept. 4; one to Harvest Moon in the amount of $500 and one to The Forrest Place in the amount of $2,464.
Smith is charged with two counts of felony printing, executing and negotiating counterfeit checks, as well as a probation violation. He is also charged with misdemeanor fourth degree forgery, and third degree forgery.
A felony probation violation warrant issued following his arrest does not allow for bond.
Trion man facing obstruction, drug
charges
A Trion man remained in jail Wednesday with a $ 10,100 bond set on obstruction and drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Pasqual Ramariz London, 36, ran on foot from officers during a traffic stop on Ga. 101 at Isbell Road Tuesday evening after a glass smoking pipe was found in his pocket.
While running, London tossed several bags of meth in bushes before he was stopped by a K-9.
London is charged with felony obstruction of an of
ficer, possession of methamphetamine, and tampering with evidence. He is also charged with misdemeanor possession and use of drugrelated objects.
He is also being held for the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office on unspecified charges.

A Rome man charged with felony methamphetamine possession was released from jail on bond Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Gregory Keith House, 35, was found with a plastic bag of meth while deputies were checking to see if he had warrants at a North Elm Street address Tuesday evening.
