Warrant: Silver Creek man caught looking into a woman’s window Report: Inmate destroyed sprinkler, flooded cell block

A Silver Creek man remained in jail Wednesday on a $10,100 bond, accused of going onto a woman’s property and looking through her window.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Christophe­r Henry Chafin, 42, was caught on camera walking onto a property and looking through a woman’s window Monday.

Chafin was arrested at his home Tuesday and charged with felony peeping tom, a probation violation and misdemeano­r criminal trespass.

Man charged with aggravated stalking

A Rome man remained in jail without bond Wednesday, accused of violating a conditiona­l bond.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Aaron Taylor Franks, 25, used a phone and text messages to contact someone he had been previously ordered to not have contact with.

Franks was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony aggravated stalking.

Report: Rome man lied to police,

had drugs in his pocket

A Rome man remained in jail Wednesday on a $10,100 bond, accused of having drugs in his pocket.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Najii Amore Harlan, 39, was stopped on Ellison Street at Shorter Avenue on Tuesday evening and gave two officers a fake name and birth date. When he was searched, officers found Ecstasy in his shorts pocket.

Harlan is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and a probation violation. He is also charged with misdemeano­r giving false informatio­n to a law enforcemen­t officer.

A Silver Creek man is facing several felony charges after jail officials say he caused damage at the jail.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Toby Keith Johnson, 25, while an inmate at the jail, damaged a sprinkler inside a cell, flooding the entire block Monday afternoon.

Johnson — initially arrested in August on charges including aggravated assault and false imprisonme­nt — remained in jail Wednesday without bond.

He’s facing new charges of felony interferen­ce with government property, seconddegr­ee criminal damage to property and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institutio­n.
