Report: Cave Spring man stole $5,000 radio from fire department

A Cave Spring man is accused of stealing tools from multiple locations and then pawning them, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Justin Lamar Penny, 33, stole a radio valued at $5,000 from the Cave Spring Fire Department, as well as radios, chargers, welding torches and other equipment valued at $ 1,500 from Internatio­nal Paper. He also took a $30 circular saw from a police officer’s residence.

He pawned all the items at a shop on Shorter Avenue, receiving approximat­ely $6,800 over the course of a year.

Penny is charged with two counts of felony theft by taking, one count of misdemeano­r theft by taking and one felony count of theft by deception.

A man listed as homeless was released from jail on bond Wednesday, after his arrest on accusation­s that he stole a car from a repair shop, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Jayquane Marquise Harris, 26, took a car valued at $4,000 from a shop located on Calhoun Road back on Aug.19.

Harris is charged with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle.

A Rome man accused of violating a temporary protective order was in jail Wednesday without bond.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Michael Derik Pressley, 31, entered a Park Avenue home on the morning of Sept. 7 and contacted three juveniles and one adult he had been courtorder­ed to stay away from.

Pressley is charged with four counts of felony aggravated stalking.

Police: Rome woman had

meth at hotel

A Rome woman remained in jail without bond Wednesday, charged with felony methamphet­amine possession.

According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:

Jennifer Miller Crumbley, 39, was arrested Tuesday night at the Sunrise Inn & Suites after police say she had a smoking device containing methamphet­amine residue.

Crumbley is also charged with misdemeano­r possession and use of drug- related objects as well as a felony probation violation.

Report: Silver Creek teen threatened man with butter knife

A Silver Creek teenager remained in jail without bond Wednesday, accused of threatenin­g someone with a weapon.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Logan James Pope, 17, pointed a kitchen butter knife at a man Tuesday, and was arrested at his home on Ridgeview Drive after resisting officers.

Pope is charged with misdemeano­r criminal trespass, willful obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t officers and felony aggravated assault.
