Rome man charged with felony child molestation
A Rome man arrested Tuesday is charged with felony aggravated child molestation, cruelty to children and aggravated sodomy, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:
Christian Anthony Croft, 20, had sex with a child under the age of 16 in November of last year. He held the child’s hands behind her back during the acts and caused “significant physical and mental trauma.”
Croft remained in jail without bond Tuesday.
Theft warrant leads to drug charges
A Rome man remained in jail without bond Tuesday after a felony theft warrant led to drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports and warrants:
Frederick Ira Jordan, 66, stole $3,487 from a gaming machine at the Chevron gas station, 507 Turner Mccall Blvd., on Oct. 29. During his arrest for the theft on Monday, Jordan was found with a counterfeit $100 bill in his wallet, methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe.
Jordan is charged with felony theft by taking and possession of methamphetamine. He is also charged with misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.
Alabama fugitive captured in Rome
A wanted Alabama man was in jail without bond Tuesday morning after being arrested in Rome.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Halyn Thomas Pasley, 29, of Cedar Bluff, was arrested at a home on Coosawattee Avenue Monday night on a felony warrant out of Centre, Alabama.
Pasley was being held for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
Report: Rome man had marijuana brownies
A Rome man was arrested on felony drug charges after police say he had marijuana brownies for sale, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jonathan Micah Chapman, 23, was in jail Tuesday with a bond set at $10,100. He was arrested Monday on Silver Street with brownies mixed with an amount of marijuana in a backpack labeled for sale.
Chapman is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute.
