Innumerable actors, producers and former co-stars posted condolences and memories on social media regarding the indomitable spirit of actress Cicely Tyson.

One of the first actors to note Tyson’s demise was her “Roots” co-star LeVar Burton.

“This one cuts deep,” tweeted Burton, who portrayed Kunta Kinte, the son of Tyson’s character Binta on the revered miniseries. “(Cicely Tyson) was my first screen mom. Elegance, warmth, beauty, wisdom, style and abundant grace. She was as regal as they come. An artist of the highest order, I will love her forever.”

Also offering high praise to Tyson was “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes.

“She was an extraordinary person. And this is an extraordinary loss. She had so much to teach. And I still have so much to learn,” wrote Rhimes on Instagram. “I am grateful for every moment. Her power and grace will be with us forever.”

Actress Zendaya added her thoughts to Tyson’s passing, as well.

“This one hurts, today we honor and celebrate the life of one of the greatest to ever do it,” wrote the “Euphoria” star on Twitter. “Thank you, Cicely Tyson. Rest in great power.”

CBS News tweeted a clip of a recent sitdown with Tyson, in which interviewer Gayle King asked the actress what she hoped to be most remembered for.

Tyson paused briefly before stating, “I done my best. That’s all.”
