OBITUARIES: In Memory CARTER, Betty Sue

Mrs. Betty Sue Carter, age 85, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at a local senior living facility.

Mrs. Carter was born in Cave Spring, Georgia on March 22, 1935, daughter of the late Leo Dodson Ingram and the late Bertha Mae Nichols Ingram. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Glenward Carter, Sr., by a great grandson, and by four siblings. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was a two-time breast cancer survivor who had led the Relay for Life survivor’s lap.

Survivors include three daughters, Belinda Carter, Rockmart, Jeri Carter, Tacoma, WA, and Melissa Bowman, Rome; a son, Ralph G. Carter, Jr. Centre, AL; six grandchild­ren, Bill, Crystal, April, Heather, Glenn, and Trey; seven great grandchild­ren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with WKH 5HY -HUU\ %URRNV Ri¿flating. Interment will be held at future date with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 1pm until the service time. Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangemen­ts. band, James Harold Shaw, Sr., and by aunts and uncles, Jack Branton, Margaret Pope, Elizabeth Nelson, Floy Wilson, J. A. Branton, Jean Branton, and Jane Nicholson. Mrs. Shaw worked for several years at Celanese and later worked at Floyd Medical Center in Central Services until her retirement. She was a member of Rome Baptist Temple.

Survivors include two daughters, Kandy Mull, Rome, and Kimberly Binkley (Dale), Rome; four grandchild­ren, Anna Ashmore (Terry), Paul Mull (Brittany), Nicole Trammell (Kevin), and Nick Trammell (Abby); seven great grandchild­ren; an uncle, Ernest Branton, Rome.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 3:30pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Donnie Pollard RI¿FLDWLQJ ,QWHUPHQW DQG graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 1pm at Floyd Memory Gardens with the Rev. JerU\ %URRNV RI¿FLDWLQJ

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 2pm until the service time. Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be Paul Mull, Nick Trammell, Terry Ashmore, David Justice, Steve Colburn, Mike Nelson, and Tony Nelson.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangemen­ts. line, Drew, and Mari-helen; Geoffrey and his children, Morgan, Davis, and Avery. She is also survived by her 100-years-old mother, Marian Yoe, as well as her sister, Lucretia, and brothers, Dan and Alan (Amber); several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Alphus Omega Yoe Jr.

A visitation is planned for Sunday, February 7th from 1 to 2:30 pm CT at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with a chapel service to follow. The Rev. Keith Reeves and Mr. Frank Murphy will RI¿FLDWH ,QWHUPHQW ZLOO Irolow in Oak Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rome, GA.
