Atlanta man charged with aggravated assault, weapons violations

An Atlanta man turned himself in at the jail on accusation­s that he pointed a pistol and threatened to kill a person on Camp Street in February, reports stated. According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Derricus Demond Camp, 38, is charged with felony aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He remained in jail Monday without bond.

Rome man faces drug charges after arrest

on Dean Street

A Rome man faces multiple drug-related felonies after his arrest on Dean Street at Roy’s Little Garden just after noon Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department records:

Roderick Maurice Chambers, 40, was found with marijuana, methamphet­amine, ecstasy and THC.

He is charged with intent to distribute a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of methamphet­amine, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of THC oil. He also faces a misdemeano­r possession of marijuana charge.

Chambers remained in jail Monday without bond on a probation hold.

Police find cocaine, Xanax during

traffic stop

A Rome man who was pulled over on the Armuchee Connector late Sunday night faces felony drug charges, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Robert Blake Ramsey, 34, had cocaine and several Xanax pills inside his vehicle when he was pulled over for failure to maintain his lane.

Ramsey is charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, misdemeano­r failing to maintain a lane and an open container of alcohol violation.

Traffic stop leads to stalking charge

A 19-year-old man was jailed after a traffic stop for a headlight violation led to an aggravated stalking arrest. According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jose Mario Godinez-gomez violated a court order when he was driving a car with a person he was ordered to stay away from. Rome police pulled him over at the intersecti­on of Shorter Avenue and Carter Street for not having his headlights on at night.

He is additional­ly charged with driving in violation of license class and improper headlights.

Silver Creek man accused of having

a stolen car

A Silver Creek man was arrested at his home on Pleasant Valley Road on a charge of theft by receiving stolen property. According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Michael Lee Sargent Sr., 46, had a stolen 1998 Honda Shadow. Sargent said he had gotten it from his cousin.

He was released on bond Saturday.
