POLICE Two burglaries reported at North Broad storage facility

At least two burglaries have been reported in the last week at Self Storage at 1928 N. Broad St.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

Rome police responded to a burglary report Saturday at the storage units, where a woman said someone has been removing the metal from the backs of several of the units backed up to the railroad tracks.

Only one thing was stolen, a Ridgid table saw sitting outside the perimeter fence. The woman said she didn’t have the owner’s contact informatio­n at the time.

On Sunday, the owners of the facility called and said they found openings in the back fence where it had been cut open. While checking in on the business, they saw a man wearing a headlamp go inside the back of one of the units.

Police arrived to set up a perimeter to search for the man, but the owner was unable to get the unit open. Officers were ultimately unable to locate the man.

While searching for him, police found a gray backpack containing two firearms.

Report: Silver Creek man

A Silver Creek man was released on a $11,200 bond Monday after he was arrested at the intersecti­on of 15th Street and East Second Avenue on felony aggravated assault and two misdemeano­r charges, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department reports:

Chris Alton Gray Etheredge, 23, followed another vehicle in his Silver Ford Fusion so closely that the other driver believed it would strike them. At some point the other driver attempted to pass Etheridge, who then pointed a black gun out the window towards them.

He is also charged with misdemeano­r aggressive driving and pointing or aiming gun or pistol at another.

Rome man charged with 2 counts of child

A Rome man was arrested at his residence Sunday on two felony child molestatio­n warrants.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Trampus Joshua Bromlow, 44, had sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16 between 2008 and 2010. He was released on bond Monday.

Report: Rome man left threatenin­g message

A Rome man is charged with felony terroristi­c threats and probation violation after he reportedly threatened to kill a woman in a voice message left on her phone.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Nahunta Sharon Finley, 42, was being held without bond Monday.

Cedartown woman arrested on meth charge

A Cedartown woman was arrested in Cave Spring on meth possession and giving false name to law enforcemen­t officers Sunday night.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Angela Dawn Smith, 49, gave her maiden name when asked by Cave Spring police for her identifica­tion. She also had a glass smoking device with meth residue in it. Smith was being held on no bond Monday.

Police: Calhoun woman in traffic stop had cocaine

A Calhoun woman was being held on a $5,700 bond Monday after she was arrested early Sunday morning on felony cocaine possession and misdemeano­r marijuana possession charges.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department reports:

Evian Janae Butler, 31, was stopped for not having a license plate at the intersecti­on of North Broad Street and North Avenue. She said she had the plate in the back window, but due to the pollen and tinted window, the officer said he didn’t see it.

While talking to her, the officer detected the smell of marijuana and asked her to exit the vehicle. Police found less than an ounce of marijuana and a small bag of cocaine during a search of the car. Butler also faces a failure to display license plate citation.

Xanax pills in car

After being pulled over for running a red light at the intersecti­on of North Broad Street and Turner Mccall Boulevard, a Calhoun man was arrested for having Xanax pills in a plastic baggie, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

David Anthony Thomas, 45, is charged with felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, misdemeano­r drugs not in original container and failure to obey a traffic control device.

He was released on a $3,500 bond Monday.

Police: Rome man kidnapped woman, child

A Rome man is facing kidnapping charges after allegedly holding a woman and child against their will and then taking the woman’s vehicle, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Aaron Lee Reynolds, 30, of Lindale was arrested Friday by Rome police after a traffic stop on on North Edenfield Ridge.

He took a woman’s vehicle and held both the woman and her daughter against their will for an undisclose­d amount of time. Reynolds also is accused of attempting to run from police following the traffic stop.

He is charged with two felony counts of kidnapping, felony motor vehicle theft and fleeing or attempting to elude police. He also faces a misdemeano­r simple battery charge.

charges after March 23 wreck

Floyd County police arrested a Rome woman on multiple drug charges in the wake of an investigat­ion into a wreck in Armuchee earlier this month.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Elizabeth Anna Hendrix, 25, was arrested after an investigat­ion into a wreck that occurred March 23 at the intersecti­on of Old School Road and Old Summervill­e Road.

When police served the warrants for drug charges related to the wreck, they also found her in possession of a glass pipe with a small amount of methamphet­amine.

Hendrix is charged with felony possession of meth at the time of the wreck and felony possession of meth at the time she was taken into custody.

She also faces misdemeano­r charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and driving too fast for conditions.

Floyd County police arrested a Bartow County resident on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Calhoun Road.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

James Howard Crymes, 44, of Cartersvil­le was pulled over around 1 a.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of Calhoun Road. Police found Crymes with methamphet­amine, marijuana, a grinder and rolling papers.

He is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeano­r possession marijuana and drug-related objects.

Shannon man accused of stealing ‘93 Sonoma

Floyd County police arrested a Shannon man on accusation­s that he took another man’s vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Billy Joe Butler Jr., 38, of Shannon was arrested Friday night after he took a 1993 GMC Sonoma from a 61-year old man.

Butler is charged with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle.

An Atlanta man who did time in the Floyd County Prison was returned to Rome to face allegation­s that he tried to arrange a drug deal from the prison 13 months ago.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Suliman Olaitan Adebara, 31, of Atlanta faces drug and conspiracy charges for attempting to smuggle marijuana into the prison in February of last year.

Warrants for his arrest say he used wall phones at the prison to conspire with another individual to drop off 40.6 grams of marijuana at the Shannon Recreation Center.

Adebara, who was returned to Rome Saturday from Wilcox State Prison, is charged with the felony conspiracy to commit a crime, use of a communicat­ions device to facilitate the commission of a felony and having items prohibited for an inmate.

Police: Woman who ignored siren

A woman arrested on U.S. 27 for reportedly failing to move over for an emergency vehicle is facing a felony drug charge.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Denise Lee Sanders La Aziz, 54 was arrested at a convenienc­e store on U.S. 27 Saturday morning on a misdemeano­r charge of failing to pull over for an approachin­g emergency vehicle.

The arresting officer found her with a quantity of methamphet­amine and she was additional­ly charged with felony possession of meth.

Report: Man hit another

with brick

A Rome man was arrested early Sunday morning after an altercatio­n at his home on Branham Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Rodney Jogno Patio, 31, hit another man in the head with a brick during an argument that occurred around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Patio is charged with felony aggravated assault.

Cave Spring woman accused of stabbing man

Cave Spring police charged a woman with felony aggravated assault after a stabbing incident on Mill Street.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Ericka Careathers 36, of Cave Spring, was arrested following the incident, around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said she used a kitchen knife to cut a man during an altercatio­n with the man and another woman.

Careathers is charged with felony aggravated assault and the misdemeano­rs criminal trespassin­g and simple battery.

Rome man charged with assault at local motel

Rome police arrested a local man after he allegedly assaulted a woman at the 7 Hills Motel.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Christophe­r Blake Hames, 25, was arrested at the motel on Martha Berry Boulevard Saturday night around 10:30 p.m.

He is accused of choking a woman during an incident at the motel. Police say he had a quantity of marijuana at the time.

Hames is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeano­r possession of marijuana.

Bartow woman arrested after incident in Rome

A Bartow County woman faces a felony charge in Rome after allegedly threatenin­g another woman in the Honeymoon Bakery on Broad Street.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Barbara Lynette Adams, 48, of Cartersvil­le was arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday after threatenin­g to cut another woman in front of other customers and children.

Officers also recovered a small bag of marijuana from her vehicle.

Adams is charged with felony terroristi­c threats and acts along with the misdemeano­r possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

Traffic stop nets Alabama fugitive

An Alabama motorist pulled over by a Georgia State Patrol trooper west of Rome was jailed on a felony fugitive warrant.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jonathan Matthew Nicholson was stopped near the intersecti­on of Alabama Highway and Old River Road.

He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Cherokee County, Alabama, for possession of dangerous drugs.

Nicholson is charged with a felony for being a fugitive from justice and the misdemeano­rs driving on a suspended or revoked license and driving without insurance.
