JACKSON, Sr., Dennis Ray

Mr. Dennis Ray Jackson, Sr., age 79, of Cartersvil­le, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Jackson was born in Spring Garden, Alabama on December 19, 1941, son of the late Lum Dennis Jackson and the late Annie Lou Studdards Jackson. He was also preceded in death by a granddaugh­ter, Katelynn Renae Clark, and by a sister, Edna Faye Blalock. He was a member the Church of God and was a member of the Pepperell High School Class of 1962. Prior to retirement, Mr. Jackson worked for 43 years as a machinist at Lindale Manufactur­ing where he was former Fire Chief for the mill and helped raise the star between the stacks every year.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Linda Jenkins Jackson; four daughters, Denise Clark, Cartersvil­le, Regina Graham (Jonathan), Centre, AL, Sherri Jackson, Cartersvil­le, and Carrie Merrell (Stan), Lutz, FL; a son, Dennis R. Jackson, Jr. (Donna), Sylacauga, AL; eight grandchild­ren; one great granddaugh­ter; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 4pm at State Line Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Amos will of¿FLDWH

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 2 until 3pm. Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested.

Pallbearer­s are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 2:20pm and include: Active: Dylan Jackson, Jackson Merrell, Jonathan Graham, Stan Merrell, Tim Reynolds, and Tim Blalock. Honorary: Deven Jackson and Mark Blalock
