Report: Rome woman threatened to burn down house

A Rome woman was in jail without bond Wednesday after she reportedly threatened to burn down someone’s house.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Kristy Danielle Acrey, 43, yelled obscenitie­s and threatened a person, saying she would “burn down their house and kill them.”

She also ran from a Floyd County police officer.

Acrey is charged with felony terroristi­c threats and the misdemeano­rs criminal trespass, obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t and disorderly conduct.

Cedartown man charged with vehicle theft

A Cedartown man was held without bond Wednesday after he fled from Floyd County police while traveling through Cave Spring, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

William Kevin Bridges, 34, failed to pull over for law enforcemen­t when they had their flashing lights and sirens on. He then drove at speeds that exceeded 90 miles per hour when the speed limits were 45 to 55 mph.

When he did eventually pull over at the intersecti­on of Gadsden Road and Old Cedartown Road, police found he had a suspended license. He was also driving a car that was reported stolen in Polk County back in November 2020.

Bridges is charged with felony fleeing from officers and motor vehicle theft. He’s also facing the misdemeano­rs driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane, driving on the wrong side of the road and passing in a no passing zone.

Catalytic converter stolen from vehicle

Another catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle sitting on a lot on 12th Street.

According to Rome police reports: The 2000 Honda Accord had been sitting on the lot for a long period of time. The man who reported the incident noticed that the car had been recently jacked up and the converter removed.

Since early October, catalytic converters have been coming up missing from vehicles in the city, especially from larger vehicles.

The last theft report was in early March, where nine vehicles were in four days, including ambulances and trucks.

Tools stolen from truck at Home Depot

Several Craftsman tools were stolen from a man’s truck bed at Home Depot on Hicks Drive.

According to Rome police reports: The owner had gone into Home Depot around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday and came out an hour later. When he got home, he noticed several of his tools missing from the bed of his truck.

Silver Creek man facing drug charges

A Silver Creek man was arrested on methamphet­amine and marijuana charges.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

James Edward Wilbur, 32, had meth when he was involved in a

traffic incident on March 23. He also had a glass pipe with marijuana residue.

Wilbur is charged with felony meth possession and the misdemeano­rs possession of marijuana and drug-related objects.

He was held without bond Wednesday due to a probation violation.

Man charged with meth possession

A Rome man was held without bond Wednesday after Floyd County police reportedly stopped him for pushing a bike down the road at night without any light and found two bags of meth.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Henry Parrish Erwin, 50, is charged with meth possession.
