Rome man charged with identity fraud

A Rome man was being held on a $11,200 bond Thursday after he was arrested at his residence on Eden Valley Road on felony charges of identity fraud and financial transactio­n card fraud.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Thomas Nathan Carter, 28, made several purchases with another person’s card in Floyd County back in March. Carter is seen on surveillan­ce footage using the lost or stolen card and admitted to the purchases.

Teen charged with

statutory rape

A Rome teen charged with statutory rape was released from jail Thursday on a $11,200 bond.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Dylan Ivan Farris, 17, engaged in sexual acts with a minor under the age of 15 back in late March.

Traffic stop leads to

cocaine charge

A Rome woman was arrested at the intersecti­on of Turner Mccall Boulevard and East Eighth Street after a traffic stop for a malfunctio­ning brake light led to drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Courtney Diane Franks, 40, gave consent to a vehicle search following the Wednesday night stop. Rome police found cocaine and synthetic marijuana under the driver’s seat and cupholders.

She is charged with felony cocaine possession, synthetic marijuana possession and misdemeano­r brake light violation.

Franks was being held on a $10,100 bond Thursday.

Woman reportedly threatened person with

a gun

A Rome woman is charged with felony terroristi­c threats after she reportedly sent a text threatenin­g a person with a gun on April 1.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Demeisha Mecole Morgan, 26, was arrested at her residence and was being held on a $5,700 bond Thursday.

Report: Rome man had

19 Xanax pills

A Rome man is facing drug charges after a Floyd County police officer responded to a 911 call about a car driving erraticall­y on U.S. 27 North, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Adam Macelhanno­n Grant, 36, was found in a parking lot on Martha Berry Highway in Armuchee. The officer saw him throw six Xanax pills on the ground then found 13 more in his car.

Grant is charged with felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. He was being held without bond Thursday due to a probation violation.
