Police: Man sold meth at Crane Street Park

An investigat­ion that led to undercover purchases of synthetic marijuana and methamphet­amine landed a Rome man in jail without bond on multiple drug charges Friday, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Charles Edward Pollard III, 35, sold meth and synthetic marijuana to a confidenti­al informant at Crane Street Park and an address on Maple Street in November 2020.

Pollard faces three felony counts of possession of methamphet­amine, three counts of sale of meth, two counts of possession of meth with the intent to distribute, one count of possession of a controlled substance near a park, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and a felony probation violation.

Cave Spring police arrest 2 on drug

A Cave Spring officer arrested a Polk County man and woman early Friday morning in the area of Freezer Locker Road south of Cave Spring.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Todd Vernon Brotherton, 58, and Peggy Ann Mcgee, 47, both of Cedartown, were found with marijuana and several bags of methamphet­amine. Brotherton also had a digital scale.

Both are charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeano­r possession of marijuana. Brotherton is also charged with felony possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

2 facing meth, suboxone charges

Floyd County police took a Rome couple to jail after finding a bag of meth and suboxone pills on them, reports stated. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Patrick Russell Mcmichael, 38, and Lindsay Brooke James, 35, were arrested just before 11 p.m. Thursday on Martha Berry Highway in Armuchee.

Both are charged with the felonies possession of methamphet­amine and possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.

James is also charged with driving under the influence.

Report: Woman ran car into people

on Elizabeth Street

A dispute on Elizabeth Street in Rome resulted in the arrest of a woman on multiple aggravated assault charges. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Sierra Lynn Alamia, 31, is accused of using her vehicle to back into a man with whom she has a child. She also struck two

Alamia was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and the misdemeano­rs cruelty to children and disorderly conduct. She was also charged with simple battery after slapping a woman in the presence of police.

K-9 hit leads to drug charges

against motorist

A traffic stop for a bad brake light resulted in a felony drug arrest Friday. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Andre Dwayne Evans, 37, was arrested by Rome police Friday around 3:30 a.m. following the traffic stop at U.S. 411 and Chateau Drive.

A K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs and officers found a smoking pipe with cocaine residue and an open container of beer.

Evans is charged with felony possession of cocaine and the misdemeano­rs driving on a suspended license, possession of drug-related objects and open container violation.

Report: Felony charge added to 2nd

driving offense in a week

A man police knew was driving on a suspended license is facing a drug charge after he was stopped for the second time in a week, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Richard Wayne Cantrell, 31, was picked up by Rome police on Dean Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Friday. He had already been stopped on April 4 for driving on a suspended license and without insurance.

The officers found a quantity of drugs in his mouth, and more on his person when he was being booked into the jail.

Cantrell is charged with the felonies possession of methamphet­amine, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance believed to be synthetic marijuana and crossing the guard line with drugs.

He also is charged with driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.
