Mr. Johnny Mack Trotter, age 68, of Lindale, GA, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, in a local hospital.

Mr. Trotter was born in Rome, GA on August 14, 1952, son of the late John William “J. W.” Trotter and the late Bobbie Mormon Trotter. He was a 1970 graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale and attended Berry College prior to graduating from Chattahooc­hee Technical College. A Master Carpenter, Mr. Trotter worked several years with Wayne Robinson Builders. He then became a Carpentry Instructor at Coosa Valley Technical College. Prior to his retirement, he was Facilities Director for the entire Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College system. Mr. Trotter was a member and Deacon of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as Church Treasurer and held other leadership positions. He was a Pastpresid­ent of the Floyd County Cattlemen’s Associatio­n, currently serving as Treasurer.

Survivors include his wife, the former Carol Stager, to whom he was married on July 19, 1975; a daughter, Sarah Trotter Smith (Wesley), Lindale; a son, Andrew Trotter (Hailey), Lindale; 3 grandchild­ren, Landon Trotter, Hadley Smith, and Ellison Smith; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 11am at Fairview Baptist Church with his Pastor, the Rev. Trey Stephens, and the Rev. Billy )ULFNV RI¿FLDWLQJ ,QWHUPHQW will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 4 until 7pm.

Pallbearer­s are requested to assemble at Fairview Baptist Church on Wednesday at 10:30am and include: David Boswell, Dave Stager, Malcolm Stager, Paul Roberts, Barry Williams, Gordon Martin, Larry Mormon, and Allen Free. Honorary pallbearer­s will include the “Hardee’s Breakfast Bunch” and his colleagues from Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College.
