Rome man charged with rape, obscene internet contact with a child
A Rome man was being held without bond Monday after he was arrested on warrants stemming from an incident in March.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Christopher Haven Minter, 28, was arrested Friday night and charged with felony rape and obscene internet contact with a child.
Task force arrests 3 on drug trafficking

Rome Floyd Metro Task Force arrested three people during a search at a Woods Road residence.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Task force officers found 28 grams at the residence of Levon Tucker Boyd, 60, and Sheila Irene Carter, 52, during a Friday night search.
Digital scales with meth residue on them and a small amount of marijuana also were found, along with a shotgun. When the officers entered, Carter threw a glass pipe in the toilet, trying to destroy it.
Christopher Jackson Colburn, 59, was also at the residence during the search and was arrested.
All three are charged with felony trafficking meth, intent to distribute and possession of meth. They’re also facing misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug-related objects.
Carter is additionally charged with misdemeanor tampering evidence and both she and Tucker are charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Report: Rome man fired shots at Wilson
Avenue residence
A Rome man is charged with two counts of aggravated assault after he was arrested on Shorter Avenue with a stolen firearm, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jozell Marcus Payne, 45, fired at two people at a residence on Wilson Avenue in South Rome. Payne used a stolen firearm during the incident.
He’s also charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police: Woman tried to steal necklace off person downtown
A Summerville woman was arrested on Broad Street after she reportedly snatched a $100 bill and bank information from a person, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail report:
Dominique Makela Adams, 34, also attempted to grab a 10 karat diamond necklace off the person’s neck. While being booked at Floyd County Jail, she used a false name on her fingerprint card.
Adams is charged with felony robbery by sudden snatching, misdemeanor battery, felony criminal damage to property and false statements or writings.

Hollow home on drug charges
Three people were arrested on drug charges at their residence on Booger Hollow Road in Lindale.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Tara Lerrae Farmer, 42, had a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue when officers came to her home with an arrest warrant for a probation violation.
Gary William Vinson, 40, also had a glass pipe with meth residue and Catherine Branham Jones, 47, had THC oil.
Farmer and Vinson are charged with felony meth possession and misdemeanor possession of a drug-related object.
Jones is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
Rome woman reportedly stole money

A Rome woman is charged with felony entering automobile to commit a theft after she reportedly took $65 from a 2010 Toyota Corolla outside a Dollar General on North Fifth Avenue, reports stated.

April Mashone Daniel, 46, was being held without bond Monday due to a probation violation.
Woman charged with felony fleeing police
A woman was arrested on multiple traffic violations and a charge of fleeing police stemming from an incident on Callier Springs Road back in February, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Felicia Sherie Tyre, 35, failed to come to a stop on Callier Springs Road and drove more than 20 mph over the speed limit, swerving in and out of her lane.
Once police pulled her over, they discovered her license was expired, she didn’t have valid insurance and there were multiple empty pill bottles and Kraton packages in the vehicle.
She is charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, reckless driving, speeding and failure to maintain a lane.
Traffic stop leads to drug charges
A Lafayette man was arrested after a traffic stop on Three Mile Road led to felony meth and misdemeanor marijuana charges, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Robert Logan Kyle, 33, had suspected methamphetamine, a burnt marijuana cigarette and syringes containing meth in the vehicle.
Kyle is also charged with misdemeanor possession of a drug-related object. No traffic charge was listed on the report.

Wreck leads to discovery of synthetic
marijuana
A Rome man was in jail on drug charges Monday after a wreck on North Fifth Avenue near West 11th Street, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Steven Lamar Barnes, 39, is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance after police found synthetic marijuana inside his vehicle after the wreck between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday.
The synthetic marijuana was found in plain view.
Barnes is also charged with the misdemeanors driving under the influence and failing to maintain a lane of traffic.
Teen faces meth possession charge
A Rome teenager is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine following a search early Sunday morning, report stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Giovanni Casserilla, 18, was arrested by Rome police at North Division Street and Shorter Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

A Rome man stopped by police in South Rome is charged with felony possession of Schedule I and
Schedule II controlled substances, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Charles Preston Riley, 54, was pulled over by police at Cherokee Street and South Broad Street around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Police found an undisclosed quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine during a search of Riley.

with stealing car
A Rome man was arrested in Dean Avenue after being stopped in a stolen automobile, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Andrew Allen Miller, 34, was stopped by a city officer around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and admitted that he had taken the vehicle without the owner’s permission.
Miller is charged with the felonies theft by taking a motor vehicle and entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft.
Report: Improper lane change leads to
drug charge
A Rome man accused of making an improper lane change in West Rome faces felony drug charges, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Justin Ryan Barnett, 40, was arrested at West Butler Street and Redmond Circle for making an improper lane change. Police found an undisclosed quantity of methamphetamine, Xanax and marijuana in Barnett’s vehicle.
Barnett was additionally charged with felony possession of meth and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance as well as misdemeanor possession of marijuana and driving under the influence.
Man charged with theft of motor scooter
A Cave Spring man accused of taking a motor scooter
April 4 was arrested by deputies Sunday, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Stephen Lamar Johnson, 33, was picked up by deputies Sunday on a warrant charging him with theft of a motor vehicle.
He is accused of taking a United Motors Matrix II 170 from the lot at 1318 Martha Berry Blvd. around 6:30 a.m. on April 4.
A surveillance camera caught Johnson scouting out the vehicle for a while before he climbed on board and drove it off.
