Report: Man abandons child in vehicle during police chase

A Rome man faces multiple felony charges after he fled police with his young child in the car, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports;

Jamaal Alexander Pryor, 23, was arrested at his home Sunday, after he fled Floyd County police attempting to make a traffic stop in East Rome Friday around 2:20 a.m.

Pryor drove off, then abandoned the vehicle, its motor still running, with his 2-year old son still inside. Investigat­ors said he had more than 30 grams of marijuana a digital scale and a handgun in the vehicle.

Pryor is charged with the felonies possession of a weapon during an attempt to commit a crime, possession of marijuana, cruelty to children in the second degree and fleeing or attempting to elude officers.

He also faces misdemeano­r charges of driving on a suspended or

revoked license, obstructio­n of officers, reckless driving, reckless conduct and possession of drugrelate­d objects.

Rome man charged with making terroristi­c threats

A man was arrested on accusation­s that he threatened to harm two people in the North Elm Street area early Monday, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Justin Carl Beatenboug­h, 36, is charged with two counts of felony aggravated stalking, aggravated assault and four counts of terroristi­c threats and acts.

He is accused of texting a man and threatenin­g to shoot him as well as kill a second person.

Beatenboug­h was at the home of a person he is court ordered not to contact and a deputy with the Screven County Sheriff’s Office was a witness to the threats.

Report: Rome man dumped

ID with drug bag

A Rome man is facing felony charges after tossing out a bag containing drugs, a gun as well as his identifica­tion during a police chase, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Tykevion Zykail Zenae Lawrence, 21, drove at high speeds and crossing double yellow lines when police attempted to pull him over around 8 p.m. Friday at the intersecti­on of Old School Road and Old Summervill­e Road.

Lawrence kept driving, even after officers put on their lights and sirens, and he tossed out a bag containing marijuana and a pistol, as well as his driver’s license. Police eventually stopped him and recovered the bag.

Lawrence is charged with felony fleeing police and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. He’s also facing misdemeano­r charges of marijuana possession, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving and passing in a no passing zone.

Police: Rome woman threatened to burn

down house

A Rome woman was arrested at a residence on Old Summervill­e Road after she reportedly threatened to burn a person’s house down.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Andrea Lane Kelley is charged with terroristi­c threats. She was being held on a $11,200 bond Saturday.

Shannon man charged with possession of Schedule I

substance

A Shannon man wanted by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office was arrested by Floyd County police on suspected meth possession, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jeffrey Arron Ingle, 25, has two warrants out of Gordon County. Floyd County police caught him Saturday and, during the patdown, found suspected meth and a glass smoking device.

Ingle is charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeano­r possession of a drug-related object. He was being held Sunday for the GCSO.
