MORRISON, Margaret Katherine Brock
Margaret Katherine Brock Morrison of the Coosa community passed away Thursday September 16, 2021. She was born on July 9, 1931 to the late Charlie Tartlon Brock, Sr. and Lizzie Bell Brewer Brock. She was married to John Albert Morrison on December 19, 1949 who preceded her in death on December 28, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son Ricky Albert Morrison, September 1953, her parents and brothers, Charlie Tartlon Brock, Jr., Ike Brock, Harper Brock, and sister Frances Brock Quinn and her Father and Mother in law, Arthur and Odessa (Dessie) Morrison. She graduated from Coosa High School in 1949. She is the oldest original member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she taught preschool Sunday School for over 50 years and was a member of the adult choir. She loved her family and her church family but most especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great JUDQGFKLOGUHQ 6KH KDG ¿YH generations.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law: Sandie and Windell Mclendon of Coosa, her son and daughter in law, Mike and Rebecca Morrison of Coosa. 2 granddaughters, Abbi Snipes, April (Dwayne) Wyatt all of Rome, 1 grandson, Mikie Morrison of Coosa, who was her pride and joy. 4 great grandchildren, Jamison Dye, Makensi Nicholson, Kobe and Hannah Mclendon all of Rome, 3 great great grandsons, Jayden, Jasper, Julian Gregory of Bartow County, GA., 3 step grandsons, Curtis (Jessi) Mclendon of Adairsville GA., Tony Mclendon of Hattiesburg MS., Stacy (Melissa) Mclendon of Brandon MS. 5 Step grandchildren all of MS. 2 sisters, Joan Winkles of Westland, Michigan, Ann Tucker of Rome, a special cousin Tootsie (Vernon) Early of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 18, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Willis and Rev. 6WHYH *ORVVRQ RI¿FLDWLQJ Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM on Friday September 17, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165. Flowers will be accepted.
Pallbearers will be Kobe Mclendon, Sammy Shetter, Bill Callan, Craig Morrison, Joe Hayes, and
Randy Durham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon Early, Garrett Hayes and Deacons of Lakeview Baptist Church.
