Report: Cedartown man violated protection order and left necklace on woman’s car

A Cedartown man is charged with felony aggravated stalking after he was arrested on a warrant involving an incident from April 23.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Marvin James Pointer, 44, left a necklace on a woman’s car at her residence. Pointer had previously been ordered to stay away from the woman and her residence under a temporary protection order. He was released on bond Wednesday.

REPORT: MAN LEFT BAG OF METH IN POLICE CAR

After he was arrested outside an auto shop on North Broad Street, a Rome man reportedly left a bag of meth in the patrol car that transporte­d him to jail around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Devan Lee Brown, 29, is charged with felony meth possession, tampering with evidence, unlawful for jail inmate to possess any controlled substance and misdemeano­r failure to appear.

Brown was held on a $7,900 bond Wednesday.

CARTERSVIL­LE MAN CHARGED WITH METH POSSESSION

A Cartersvil­le man was arrested on North Broad Street after Rome police found a glass smoking device with meth residue in his vehicle, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Paul Alan Timmer, 43, gave a false name to police when he was stopped. He was also driving on a suspended license and has two outstandin­g warrants in Bartow County. He was held for the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday.

REPORT: ROME MAN BROUGHT DRUG PIPE INTO JAIL

A Rome man is charged with felony crossing county guard lines with drugs after a glass pipe containing meth residue was found on him when he was booked into jail, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

James Timothy Vasser, 56, also had a baggie of suspected meth when he was arrested at the intersecti­on of East Second Avenue and Merrell Avenue.

He was held without bond Wednesday.
