SMITHBERGE­R, Thomas Michael “Tommy”

Mr. Thomas Michael “Tommy” Smithberge­r, age 62, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at a local hospital.

Mr. Smithberge­r was born in Rome, GA, on August 8, 1959, son of the late John Francis Smithberge­r and the late Patricia Jean Allen Vaughan. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sheryl Blalock. Mr. Smithberge­r was a graduate of East Rome High School. Before his retirement, he owned and operated S & S Industrial Contractor with his son, Nick. He loved his family, especially his son and grandsons. Mr. Smithberge­r was always there to watch any sport they were involved in. He loved the lake and enjoyed having a place where he and his wife could enjoy. Mr. Smithberge­r was an avid ¿VKHUPDQ DQG HQMR\HG ULGing his motorcycle. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Doris B. Smithberge­r, to who he was married for almost 30 years; his son, Nick Smithberge­r (Lyndsay), Rome; 3 grandchild­ren, Brayden Erwin, Nash Smithberge­r and Brooks Smithberge­r; 2 brothers, Allen Smithberge­r and Jimmy Smithberge­r; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Floyd Memory Gardens. The Rev. Colt 'HHPV ZLOO RɤFLDWH

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30pm until 2:30pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Pallbearer­s are to assemble on Monday by 2pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Justin Davis, Jamey Davis, Ricky Davis, David Hann, Mitch Cooper and Ricky Lee Deems.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of funeral arrangemen­ts.
