New Echota state historic site in Calhoun will have Junior Ranger Day on Friday, July 22, to help youth ages 7-10 complete the junior ranger site book and earn a badge. Rangers will give short hands-on lessons on archeology, the Cherokees, forest ecology and more from 10-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. Register in advance by calling 706-624-1321 or emailing kevin.mardell@dnr.ga.gov.
