The City of Rome and Rome Internatio­nal Film Festival free movie this week is “The Wiz” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at City Auditorium, 601 Broad St. Concession­s will be available. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show.

FRIDAY

New Echota state historic site in Calhoun will have Junior Ranger Day on Friday, July 22, to help youth ages 7-10 complete the junior ranger site book and earn a badge. Rangers will give short hands-on lessons on archeology, the Cherokees, forest ecology and more from 10-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. Register in advance by calling 706-624-1321 or emailing kevin.mardell@dnr.ga.gov. Admission is $7/adult, $5.50/youth.
