Rome man accused of burglary, shopliftin­g

A Rome man has been charged with burglary and shopliftin­g at different locations in Rome this July.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Bryan Scott Mazzo, 28, was charged with felony shopliftin­g from Lowe’s after he was recognized on a video tape stealing eight Dewalt drills valued over $2,000. He was subsequent­ly recognized on another surveillan­ce tape inside the West Rome Trading Company at 2523 Shorter Ave., where he removed and damaged the back door before removing items through the front door.

Mazzo was held without bond Wednesday afternoon.

MAN CHARGED WITH GROWING ‘MAGIC MUSHROOMS’

A Florida man was charged with growing magic mushrooms with an intent to distribute, as well as possession of a rifle at the Skytop Studio Lofts during an incident in July.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Christian Anton Robinson, 22, was charged with the manufactur­e of a Schedule I narcotic, specifical­ly psilocybin mushrooms, and possession of a rifle during the commission of a crime after a search of his Holiday Drive residence on July 22.

Robinson, a semi-pro baseball player, was released from the Rome Braves roster in July. He is out of jail on bond.

ROME MAN ARRESTED ON GUN CHARGE

A Rome man is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Corey Desmond Mchenry, 38, was stopped in a vehicle at 519 Shorter Ave. with no insurance and a suspended registrati­on. A firearm was also discovered in his possession. He was held without bond on Wednesday afternoon.

REPORT: WOMAN THREATENED TO ‘SHOOT THE PLACE UP’

A Rome woman was charged early Wednesday morning for threatenin­g to “shoot the place up” at a business on Calhoun Road, reports stated.

According to Floyd Count Jail reports:

Ashley Nicole Butts, 19, is charged with making terroristi­c threats when she threatened people at a Circle K at 1881 Calhoun Road. She was being held without bond on Wednesday afternoon.

MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING $800

A Rome man is charged with breaking into a home on Payne Road.

According to Floyd Count Jail reports:

Jefferson Ronaldo Gramajo, 22, admitted to entering the victim’s bedroom and removing $800 from a bedside table at a house on Payne Road. He was being held on a $7,900 bond as of Wednesday afternoon.

POLICE: NEW YORK MAN STALKED ROME VICTIM

A man from Long Island, New York, is charged with aggravated stalking after an incident on Doncaster Drive, reports stated.

According to an affidavit for arrest:

Jordan Travon Calderon, 23, was arrested Tuesday for being at 45 Doncaster Drive in violation of a temporary order of protection keeping him away from the victim and residence. Calderon was being held without bond on Wednesday afternoon.
