- GAYLOR, Jr., Robert “Bob” E.

Mr. Robert “Bob” E. Gaylor, Jr., 74, of Mcdonough, GA, passed away at his home on August 8th after a lengthy illness.

Bob, born on April 6th, 1948, grew up in Manchester, GA. He studied at the University of Georgia and Georgia State University. His work in real estate, law enforcemen­t, and education brought him much joy. His career revolved around public service throughout the state of Georgia and in Washington, D.C. He was actively involved in many civic organizati­ons, community theater production­s, and church activities. His leadership roles in the Rome Rotary Club and Mental Health Associatio­n of Floyd County were especially important to him. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Kevin Gaylor; his parents, Robert and Viola Gaylor; and his siblings Carolyn Boyt, Gilbert Gaylor, and Ann Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Mullis Gaylor; son, Grey Gaylor; daughter, Beth Hooper (Heath); grandchild­ren, Hannah and Hudson Hooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Salem Baptist Church, 1724 Hwy 155 North, Mcdonough, GA 30252 on Saturday, August 13th at 10:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM.
