North Rome woman facing cocaine, marijuana charges

A North Rome woman was arrested on Turner Mccall Boulevard late Tuesday night and charged with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Taggine Lanit Anderson, 39, is charged with felony possession of a Schedule II substance and misdemeano­r possession of marijuana. She was being held on $7,000 bond Wednesday.

MAN CHARGED WITH BRINGING PILLS INTO JAIL

A man initially arrested on suspicion of DUI is facing felony drug charges after bringing pills into the jail Tuesday night, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Zachery Seth Parker, 31, is charged with four counts of felony possession of a Schedule IV substance, believed to be Xanax; felony crossing the guard lines with drugs and the misdemeano­r having drugs not in the original container. He’s also charged with DUI drugs and driving without insurance reported.

Parker was being held Wednesday pending an $8,712 bond, of which $5,700 covered the drug charges.

EAST ROME MAN ACCUSED OF BURGLARY

An East Rome man was arrested Tuesday night on

Maple Avenue and charged with felony first degree burglary and misdemeano­r criminal trespass after he entered premises on Maple Avenue without permission, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Earl Ballew, 50, was being held on $5,900 bond Wednesday.

REPORT: ITEMS STOLEN FROM UNLOCKED CAR

Rome police were called Tuesday afternoon regarding an unlocked vehicle being burglarize­d Monday night while it was having some work done on it at a business on Riverbend Drive.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The victim reported that $1,000 worth of tools, $2,000 worth of keys and other merchandis­e was stolen from her unlocked vehicle, a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. The total amount of valuables stolen was $3,650.
