Woman found with stolen car, charged with auto theft

A Rome woman was arrested on Maple Street late Wednesday morning and charged with felony auto theft after she was found driving in a stolen car, reports state.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

Ronni Cecelia Steele, 30, is charged with felony auto theft and entering an auto with intent to commit theft. She was being held without bond Thursday.

LINDALE MAN ACCUSED OF FORGERY

A Lindale man was arrested Wednesday on Calhoun Avenue and charged with forgery after he paid for rims at an auto salvage lot with counterfei­t money on Dec. 30, 2022, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Contraveon Bernard Robinson, 20, is charged with felony forgery, driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation. He was being held on $7,900 bond Thursday.

3 KIDS, DRIVER HURT IN CAVE SPRING ROAD WRECK

Three children and an adult were injured in a single vehicle wreck on Cave Spring Road in front of Darlington School late Wednesday night, reports state.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The driver of the vehicle, Jasmine Heard, 29, stated she didn’t know what happened and thought she lost control of the car due to having bad tires on a wet road.

The vehicle, a 2013 Kia Soul, left the roadway as

it was traveling north on Cave Spring Road where the road curved left. The car then sideswiped a utility pole before entering a ditch and rolling over.

Heard and three passengers, ages 8, 5 and 1, were all wearing restraints and none were ejected. All passengers were transporte­d to Atrium Health Floyd for treatment.
