Duo charged with intent to distribute marijuana

Two Rome men were arrested at a home on Goodman Road on Wednesday night and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute when they were found with several ounces of marijuana, a large amount of cash and digital scales, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Marcus Anthony Scott, 23, and Trayron Marquez Bexley, 28, are both charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana as well as misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects. Additionally, Scott is charged with felony possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.

Both are being held without bond Thursday.

LINDALE MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY, ASSAULT

A Lindale man turned himself in to police Wednesday to face charges stemming from an incident on Hosea Street Saturday afternoon when he kicked in the front door and placed his wife in fear of being attacked, in the presence of five children, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Dusty Ryan Brooks, 29, is charged with felony burglary and cruelty to children as well as misdemeanor simple assault. He remained in jail without bond Thursday.

ROME MAN CHARGED WITH HAVING STOLEN GUN

A Rome man was arrested Wednesday night at a motel on Martha Berry Boulevard and charged with theft after admitting to receiving a stolen firearm, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Cody Damecone Gregory, 18, was being held on $5,700 bond as of Thursday.

2 CHARGED WITH FIGHTING AT ROME HIGH SCHOOL

Two students were arrested Wednesday and charged with battery after getting into a fight at Rome High School on Veterans Memorial Highway, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail report:

Dominic Keshawn Espinoza, 17, is charged with misdemeanor battery. According to the Rome Police Department another student, a minor, was also charged. Espinoza was being held on $1,300 bond as of Thursday.
