North Broad man charged in knife attack

A North Broad man is facing aggravated assault charges after police say he stabbed a woman with a knife during an incident in a motel room on Martha Berry Highway early Monday morning, reports state. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Jared Barnard Jett Jr., 30, is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeano­r battery in the knife attack.

He is further charged with misdemeano­r battery and criminal trespass for a previous assault on the same person August 20 on Second Avenue when he punched her in the face and head and broke her glasses valued at $200.

He remained in jail without bond as of Friday morning.

PAIR CHARGED WITH COCAINE POSSESSION AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

possession of marijuana. Irvin is further charged with failure to maintain lane.

Irvin was held on $10,000 bond, and Garrett was held without bond as of Friday morning.

ROME WOMAN CHARGED WITH LEAVING 2-YEAR-OLD HOME ALONE

A Rome woman was arrested Thursday morning after leaving a 2-year-old child home alone who then wandered away, reports state. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Hannah Natoya Nesbitt, 38, is charged with felony cruelty to children. She remained in jail without bond as of Friday morning.

ARMUCHEE WOMAN CHARGED WITH IDENTIT Y FRAUD

An Armuchee woman is charged with identity fraud after using another person’s banking account informatio­n to illegally withdraw $600 from their account, police reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail reports: Dawn Tamela Brown, 43, is charged with felony identity fraud. She is being held without bond as of Friday morning.

FLOYD COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH STALKING

A Floyd County man is facing stalking charges after walking into a person’s house on Turner Bend Road Sept. 28, who had filed an order of protection against him, and getting a cup of coffee, reports state. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Lawrence Andrew Wood, 52, is charged with felony aggravated stalking. He remained in jail without bond as of Friday morning.

PATIO FURNITURE STOLEN FROM RESTAURANT

Rome police were called to Jazzy Hot Wings on Redmond Circle Thursday night on a report that the restaurant’s outdoor furniture had been stolen, reports state.

According to Rome Police Department reports:

The manager of the restaurant reported that surveillan­ce footage showed the outdoor furniture had been stolen Wednesday morning. The total value of furniture stolen was over $2,500.
