Berry College to present Haunted History tours

-

This October, Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum will celebrate Halloween with their annual Haunted History Tours.

During the tour, guests will experience Berry’s haunted past with tales that are inspired by the Berry property, schools, and Cherokee and Appalachian folklore.

Stories include the origins of Berry College’s most infamous ghost the Green Lady, hauntings at residence halls, and other ghostly encounters across campus. Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum’s Haunted History Tour will explore many historical facts in the college’s history, along with their haunted legends.

Tours will be offered to the public on Sunday, Oct. 29 with three tours starting at 4 p.m., 7 p.m., and 10 p.m. The tours will last an hour and a half and are a combination of driving and walking, requiring about a mile of walking, some over rough terrain. A shuttle will be provided for the driving portions of the tour. Tickets cost $12 for adults (18+) and $8 for students (1017). Tours are recommended for ages 10 and up.

Tickets for the public must be reserved online at berry.ticketspice.com/ oak-hills-haunted-history-tours.

Guests will meet Oak Hill staff at the parking lot adjacent to the Memorial College Chapel, located on Berry’s main campus to begin their tour. It is recommended that guests should dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, and bring a flashlight.
