WILLOW GLEN>> Three students from Presentation High School in Willow Glen are semifinalists for this year’s National Merit Scholarship award, making them eligible for thousands of corporate and school-sponsored scholarships. The students — Nandita Jayanthi, Sheryl Mathew and Margaret Wang—were chosen for their outstanding performance on the PSAT.
ROSE GARDEN>> Fifteen students from Bellarmine College Preparatory in Rose Garden are semifinalists for this year’s National Merit Scholarship award, making them eligible for thousands of corporate and schoolsponsored scholarships. The students—geoffrey Golan, Rijul Jain, Joel Jothiprakasam, Safwaan Khan, Robin Liu, Surya Midha, Ansh Nagwekar, Ashok Ramkumar, Joseph Sarmenta, Krishna Saxena, Kristof Sochan, Andrew Tan, Nolan Topper, Avinash Upadhyayula and Austin Yang— were chosen for their outstanding performance on the PSAT.
This month, Rose Garden-based Playful People Productions has launched a new performing arts and craft class subscription service. Users can sign up for any of 10 virtual classes that cover topics including spooky makeup and effects, sound design and how to create stage sets and props. Some classes last several weeks, while others are one-night events. Each class comes with a crate of materials and access to the online class. Chen, Peter Chong, Kelly Cui, Justin Jang, Minseo Kim, Nicole Kim, Yujung Kim, Duy Lam, Grace Li, Isaac Li, Xiaoran Li, Jessica Lin, Nam Nguyen, Kylie Roberts, Noora Soroushnejad, Ryan Vakhshoori, John Wang, Annie Xu, Jonathan Yue and Ivan Zhu—were chosen for their outstanding performance on the PSAT. CAMBRIAN>> Fourstudents from Branham High School in Cambrian are semifinalists for this year’s National Merit Scholarship award, making them eligible for thousands of corporate and school-sponsored scholarships. The students— Alexander Goldberg, Tiffany La, Tarang Lunawat and Mingyuan Song— were chosen for their outstanding performance on the PSAT.
