Brighter Performance Recovery opened Sept. 14 in Rochester Hills, featuring cryotherapy and compression therapy designed to help athletes and active adults and teens achieve their performance goals.

The owners, Justin and Wendy Bright of Macomb, have invested in state- ofthe-art equipment such as a cryotherapy machine, compression therapy equipment and an infrared sauna. The Athletic/Physical Recovery business provides cryotherapy, or cold therapy, where the body is exposed to extremely cold temperatures for several minutes.

Cryotherapy is a treatment method used by professional athletes to accelerate muscle recovery, decrease fatigue, increase range of motion and flexibility, and promote athletic performance, according to the Brighter Performance Recovery website.

“We saw a need in a growing industry to help support the local community,” Wendy Bright said.

The couple have been involved in their family’s sports activities. “Our kids have been incredibly active in youth/ high school sports,” Wendy said.

Brighter Performance Recovery also offers Rapid Reboot Compression Therapy Recovery, MarcProElectrical Muscle Stimulation and WIN Virtual Reality Training for baseball.

The facility is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is located at 2230 Star Court in Rochester Hills.
