Trick-or-treating and more Halloween activities

- By Kathy Blake kblake@medianewsgroup.com

Many cities have trickor-treating hours, but recommend following CDC guidelines including social distancing and wearing PPE face masks to curtail the spread of the coronavirus. Check local communities for whether trick- or- treating will be permitted.

Oakland County lists safety recommendations on its website including advice for homeowners and renters, such as leaving individual bags of candy on the doorstep to limit physical contact, or distributing candy on a disinfected table in the driveway. Residents who wish to opt out, may indicate by turning off their porch lights on Halloween night. For the full list of recommendations, visit oakgov. com/covid/ best- practices/ prepare/ Pages/celebrations- holidays. aspx.
