Online Halloween treats this weekend
Online Halloween treats have a few tricks up their sleeves
There are special Halloween treats to be had online this weekend — for ghost, ghouls, goblins and children of all ages.
• The Detroit Symphony Orchestra teams up with Troupe Vertigo’s acrobats for a Halloween Spooktacular at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday from Orchestra Hall. The family-friendly show includes a costumed orchestra, as well as a virtual costume contest. You’re on your own for the candy, though. Tickets are $12; 313-5765111 or dso.org.
• “The Rocky Horror Show” lives again with a virtual livestream hosted by Tim Curry and featuring original cast members Barry Bostwick and Nell Carter along with an all-star cast that’s surely thrown its own share of toast and rice at movie screens. Proceeds benefit the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which has also staged reunion readings of “The Princess Bride,” “Happy Days” and more. RSVP and more info at wisdems.org.
• For a different kind of alien invasion, the Keen Company re-creates the fake news classic, “War of the Worlds: The 1938 Radio Script,” at 8 p.m. today via broadwayondemand.com. Tickets $25. Spoiler alert: All’s Welles that ends well...
